This book was written by the chairman of the Catalyst association, established to promote the advancement of women in business. It uses many studies of large corporations performed by this NGO to analyze the factors explaining the obstacles that prevent women from rising to the top in companies. An essential hindering factor is the fact that women have little access to informal company networks and have difficulty finding mentors to support their development. The author proposes many potential solutions to compensate for this handicap.
