Many companies go global for the wrong reasons, e.g. because it's trendy, because their competitors or customers are doing it, etc. In fact, there are essentially three good reasons to internationalize a business, namely, to reduce unit costs, increase the volume of sales to customers or learn from contace with unfamiliar markets. Depending on the primary objective, the choice of country, the entry method and the organizational model will differ considerably.
