Manageris opinion
This book is essentially an instruction manual for realizing a successful merger, with lots of checklists, tables and assessment questionnaires. Although the book is essentially focused on managing the integration process, readers will nonetheless find very useful tips on the pre-acquisition phase in chapters 2 and 3. The former is specifically devoted to analyzing the reasons a company might want to do a merger, and the latter describes the characteristics required of a pre-acquisition audit. A strong point of this book is that it is supported by a great number of examples, even if their analysis could have been more thorough.
