Toyota is not just the champion of operational performance, but is also a tremendous machine for developing the skills of employees and getting the best from them. This book shows how and to what degree these practices can be a source of inspiration for other companies. The passages concerning the establishment of field learning processes are particularly useful, as they explain how the company breaks tasks down into movements and attitudes that can be easily transmitted, encourages every employee to improve and learn, expects all managers to help them in this endeavor, etc. Also, the role of the ""sensei,"" i.e. venerated experts responsible for disseminating the Toyota philosophy and methods throughout the world, is a concrete illustration of a highly proactive knowledge transfer policy.
