This book reviews the best practices in idea management in Europe today. Co-authored by one of the authors of Ideas are Free, it has a European flavor in its choice of examples as well as its analysis of the changing historical relationship between companies and their employees in Europe.
• If you still need to be convinced of the value of small ideas, you will find irrefutable arguments in parts 1 and 4. The first underlines the opportunity cost of not capitalizing on these ideas, while the last emphasizes the risk that companies take when they focus exclusively on radical innovation.
• In part 3, you will find enlightening insights, illustrated with numerous examples, on the implementation of an effective system for managing ideas. The authors propose a detailed analysis of the role of local managers, as well as useful tips on processing ideas and on reward systems.
• Finally, you will appreciate the very detailed example of Michelin presented in part 2, as well as frequent references to the system established at the Toyota production facility in Valenciennes, whose vice president wrote the preface to the book.
