Real Change Leaders
How the most successful transformations often emanate from middle managers.
Manageris opinion
This book observes that the most successful transformations often emanate from middle managers who act as real change leaders. Using many examples drawn from the business world, the author underlines the qualities that distinguish change leaders from other managers, e.g. an aptitude for challenging existing standards and assumptions, contagious energy, the ability to talk to people’s hearts as well as their heads, a deep desire to improve company performance, etc. The tone of the book is essentially practical, with many suggestions on deployment, checklists, a questionnaire to determine whether an individual has the profile of a “real change leader,” etc. It can be read on several levels, however, and also encourages the reader to adopt a wider view on change management.
